PHP/MySQL Web Developer

Chicago loop-based web development company is looking for a full-time web developer. We have a small, highly motivated team and the most important thing is to be a demonstrated self-learner with excellent communication skills.  

Technical Skills required include:

• At least 3-5 years professional experience
• Strong knowledge of PHP and basic knowledge of Object Oriented Programming techniques
• Web application design and consulting
• Ability to estimate the time required to complete work
• Producing and review wireframes and specifications documents
• Strong knowledge of standards-compliant HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Knowledge of a JavaScript library (preferably jQuery)
• MySQL database development
• Comfortable using the Linux command line
• Troubleshooting / developer assistance

• CodeIgniter
• Drupal
• WordPress
• Kohana
• Subversion / Git

• Github account or similar where we can check out your work
• Experience with unit testing and writing testable code

Communications/ Collaboration Skills Required Include:

Ability to initiate proactive solutions externally & internally Open to giving and receiving honest, objective feedback about your work and work style Ability/interest in building client relationships through clear communication and pro-active ideas and problem solving   

Day to day you will work closely with team members on large, creative projects and small site maintenance work for a variety of clients. We are a growing company through your keen attention to time lines and budgets, as well as your creative ideas.
