Lamp Stack Developer

All team members at Caxy work closely together to innovate on new technologies and deliver excellent products to our clients. The majority of our work is built on a LAMP stack. Web developers work with a variety of programming languages, and are expected to deliver working pieces of software on a regular basis in connection with established agile project timelines and release schedules. Developers play an active role in product planning, strategy and estimation. As such, they are expected to actively contribute to project scrum ceremonies like daily standups, backlog grooming, architecture, client demos and sprint retrospectives.


  • Direct experience building an application.

  • Direct experience working with an API.

  • Available to work onsite at the Caxy offices during our regular business hours.

  • Able to work within a team environment as well as independently as needed.


  • Build new custom, often innovative, applications and services for web and mobile in accordance with established success criteria.

  • Provide support for, and maintain, existing client applications and websites.

  • Create high quality, well designed, efficient and testable code in accordance with current industry standards and best practices.

  • Uphold company established code testing, review, and QA procedures and best practices.

  • Gather specifications and product requirements with the support of a Product Owner or Project Manager.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive product documentation for client deliverables.

  • Contribute to estimation, technology choice, architecture and product planning exercises for client deliverables.

  • Report on the status of client deliverables to Product Owners and Project Managers.

  • Other tasks and responsibilities as requested.

Core Competencies

Proficient to expert in:

  • PHP and/or Drupal 7 – 3+ years experience desired

  • MySQL – 3+ years experience desired

  • Javascript – 3+ years experience desired

Competent at working in:

  • Linux environments and/or Mac OS X

  • Version control workflows – Git

Novice to competent familiarity:

  • CSS

  • jQuery

  • Apache

  • Twig

  • Angular

  • Symfony, Zend, Laravel and/or CodeIgniter


  • Doctrine

  • Popular CMSes (Drupal, WordPress, etc…)

Nice to have:

  • Magento
